ENCELL BATTERIES: THE NEW GENERATION NICKEL IRON
PERMA-BATTERIES has developed an exclusive distribution partnership with the ENCELL company American start-up created in 2009, which is developing a series of new generation Nickel-Iron batteries. The ENCELL battery is made in the USA, and protected by several international patents. It is based on Nickel-Iron chemistry, recognized as being the most robust and durable. In particular, it allows rapid discharges and recharges of less than 2 hours (C / 2). Reaching record levels of cyclability, it supports extreme environments (up to 80 °) and unlike li-ion systems, does not require any BMS. Taking into account the elements used (Fe & Ni), any risk of thermal runaway is eliminated, whatever the operating mode of the cell (prolonged overloads, extreme rapid discharges, etc.). The proprietary internal design is based in particular on an iron electrode made by sintering and a specific electrolyte formulation. These attributes give it an exceptional lifespan of over 11.000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge.

UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS ON THE STORAGE MARKET:
ENCELL technology is the best alternative to lithium and lead batteries, for stationary applications requiring long lifetimes (over 25 years) in difficult conditions. The absence of electronic regulation (BMS), rare metals and its long lifespan makes it possible to obtain a cost per kWh stored among the lowest on the market. These advantages make ENCELL batteries ideal for all stationary applications where durability, reliability and operational safety are essential criteria (isolated sites, micro-grids, self-consumption with storage).
